New Year, New You

New Year, New You: Think Before You Do

Another New Year rolls around, my friend,
And with it, the vows we swear to amend.
“Be better! Do more!” the resolutions roar,
But have we asked why before listing more?

It's not the actions, not the checklists we keep,
But the thoughts we plant in the soil so deep.
Want to rise at dawn, full of zest and drive?
First, imagine a self that feels truly alive.

Don’t just scribble “be kind” in your daily plan,
See yourself lending a hand where you can.
Picture a heart that listens and hears,
A mind that embraces both joys and fears.

Forget the treadmill and the dreaded sweat,
Visualize health as a goal you’ve met.
Not just for the mirror, but the strength it brings,
To dance through life with lighter wings.

And saving money? Why, if not to share?
Dream of a future where you’ve enough to care.
Imagine abundance, not piles of wealth,
But time, and love, and spiritual health.

So don’t resolve blindly, chasing the new,
Think, reflect—what will better you?
For change begins in the mind, you see,
And action will follow purpose with glee.

A kinder you, a wiser way,
Begins not tomorrow but in thought today.
Visualize, reflect, let your soul renew,
Then watch as the New Year gives birth to the new you
